Troop 99 was founded by the St. John’s Men’s brotherhood Society as the sponsoring organization and the St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church as the sponsoring Institution. The Boy Scouts of America officially issued a charter to Troop 99 in May 1916.
In the years following the troop experienced many wonderful events such as the annual summer camp trips to Ten Mile River as well as short camping trips to our council camps, William Pouch Scout Camp in Staten Island and Alpine Scout Camp in Alpine, New Jersey, during the 1930-1940’s. The troop enjoyed an average of 100 boys and the troop produced its 1st eagle scout in the late 1920’s. |
